Grupo Maldad, The 2nd Genaration of San Antonio's
own, LOS AGUILARES. Based out of San Antonio, Texas, Grupo
Maldad has been playing at all kinds of events such as the
TTMA Nominees Dance, TTMA Industry Awards, Fan Fair, Los
Aguilares Anniversary Dances, Tejas Records Party, Houston
and San Antonio Livestock Show & Rodeo, and also a numerous
amount of clubs. Every performance is gratifying upon receiving
positive feedback from the crowd, as well as fellow musicians.
Members of the band include one of Rodeo's original singers,
Marco Jaime, brother of tejano female vocalist, Esmeralda.
Marco is on lead vocals and acoustic guitar. Back in ’93,
during the time with Rodeo, Marco and his brother Alfonso
won the Rising Star Award for TTMA, not to mention a numerous
amount of nominations. Marcos has sang with many bands including
Los Hermanos Jaime, which was led by him and his brother,
and is also writing some originals that are included in
Grupo Maldad's debut cd, "Tradicion Humilde".
On accordion and vocals is J.R. Ramos. J.R. started playing
the accordion at the age of 6 years old, and went to classes
with one of the greatest accordionist of all time, the late
Don Valerio Longoria. J.R. was also nominated best Instrumental
of the Year back in ’94 for “La Polaka Polka”,
which was recorded with a local conjunto led by him and
his dad, Cone Ramos, who also made a presentation on Tradicion
Humilde by recording the song "Que Suerte La Mia".
J.R. has played with many well-known bands including Grupo
Escandalo, Steve Jordan for the president of Mexico, Little
Joe y La Familia all around Texas, Arkansas, and even Kumamoto,
Japan at the age of 10. |
